Agnese Metitieri, Circular Economy Ventures Lead at IMR

Agnese Metitieri joined IMR Sustainable Manufacturing team as Circular Economy Innovation Lead and operated now as of 2024 as the Circular Economy Ventures Lead. In the context of CIRCULÉIRE, the first cross-sectoral industry-led innovation network dedicated to accelerating the net-zero carbon circular economy in Ireland, she is scoping, designing, delivering for CIRCULEIRE’s CE accelerator - from recruitment of ventures to preparation and delivery of webinars, workshops and clinics and post-activity reporting and everything in between

Her role encompasses the provision of advisory support and mentorship to ventures/start-ups and SMEs seeking to scale circular business models or pilot circular innovation - ranging but not limited to input into investor pitch packs, investor readiness, strategy and market placement and communication of circular value proposition

With an academic background in Energy Engineering, she has gained knowledge and expertise in sustainability, circular economy and climate impact, alongside becoming highly skilled in coaching, mentoring and storytelling. Agnese worked for many years as an international freelance consultant moved by a deep commitment to the shift to a more sustainable, just and prosperous future for all.

Valentina Rangel is the Circular Economy Policy Officer at IMR, working primarily on the flagship circular economy project CIRCULÉIRE, she supports industry engagement in national and EU circular economy and regulatory frameworks.

Her role at IMR also involves enhancing the Irish Industry’s understanding of the key regulatory drivers for circularity, as well as key regulatory obligations, and facilitating meaningful dialogue between industry and national policymakers. Before her journey in IMR, she worked as the Economic and Trade Officer at the Embassy of Colombia in Ireland and in the United Kingdom. She served as a bridge between the Government and the international private sector by facilitating policy dialogues, building public-private partnerships, and using her legal background to support industry understanding of key regulatory frameworks. 

Valentina is a qualified lawyer in Colombia, with a Master of Laws (LLM) from the London School of Economic and Political Science and a law degree (LLB) from the Universidad de Los Andes.

David Fitzsimons

Oakdene Hollins founder David Fitzsimons has over 20 years’ experience in sustainable technology consulting. His strength is in the application of economic instruments to environmental policy objectives, in measurement of resource efficiency, and in promoting an understanding of circular economy principles. He has a particular interest in the development of product stewardship programmes.

David has contributed to major papers for Government and City audiences on resource efficiency, carbon reduction and energy from residual wastes. His work in an international context includes major studies on deposit refund systems for beverage containers, on international used oil markets, and – most recently – on creating a network of businesses with the common aim of tripling the value of Europe’s remanufacturing sector to €100 billion by 2030.
